This recruitment process seeks eligible candidates who hold qualifications such as SSCE, Diploma (ND), NCE, HND, or Bachelor’s Degrees (BSc) to fill various positions in General Duty, Inspectorate, and Assistant Cadres.
The board has warned against applying for more than one of the four paramilitary services, as applying to two or more will lead to automatic disqualification. This raises the question: which service should you apply for?
To help you make an informed decision, we will provide an overview of each agency’s salary, ranks, competition, and career opportunities.

Salary and Ranks
All four agencies operate under the Consolidated Para-Military Salary Structure (COMPASS), meaning they offer similar salaries at equivalent ranks and grades. Whether you choose Immigration, Civil Defence, Correctional, or Fire Service, your paycheck will be the same at the same level.
While the salaries across the paramilitary services may be similar, the working conditions, allowances, and career opportunities can differ widely.
The allowances you receive depend heavily on your posting. For instance, the Immigration service typically provides higher allowances compared to the other three services.
This is largely due to the nature of its postings, which often involve higher ranks and international assignments. Such differences can significantly affect your overall compensation and benefits.
