Job Description:

Role Brief

As a Content Associate, you will assist in the creation, management, and distribution of content across Selar’s platforms. You will work closely with the Content Marketing lead and other marketing team members to craft engaging blog articles, newsletters, and product content that resonate with our audience. This role requires strong writing skills, creativity, and an understanding of SEO best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and write SEO-optimized blog articles, creator success stories, and case studies.
• Proofread and refine content to align with Selar’s brand voice and quality standards.
• Write  and schedule weekly newsletters to engage and educate our creator community.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to create and repurpose content for social media distribution.
• Ensure blog and article content is effectively shared across Selar’s channels.
• Assist in optimizing content for search engines by researching relevant keywords.
• Update and maintain existing content on Selar’s blog to keep it fresh and relevant.
• Stay updated on content marketing trends, industry insights, and competitor strategies.
• Track and report on content performance metrics, providing insights for improvement.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in content writing, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with SEO best practices and content optimization.
• Experience using content management systems (e.g., WordPress) is a plus.
• Ability to multitask and manage content deadlines effectively.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• A proactive and creative mindset, eager to contribute bright ideas.
• Be involved in our video shoots, IG Lives and other digital outfits.

Job Description:

As the Content Marketing Lead, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive content strategy that enhances brand awareness, educates our audience, and supports business growth. You will create compelling content across various formats, optimize content for SEO, and work cross-functionally to ensure alignment with our marketing goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a content marketing strategy that drives traffic, engagement, Research, write, and publish high-quality, SEO-optimized articles  to rank high 
• Maintain our current SEO ranking by constantly updating articles on the blog
• Research for new keywords we can rank for and create SEO content around those keywords.
• Write stories that are worth reading and sharing
• Come up with disruptive content marketing ideas that increase customer engagement   
• Lead the execution of weekly newsletters, educating and engaging our creators
• Work closely with the Social Media and Product Marketing teams to create compelling product-focused content across various channels.
• Lead the execution of some major content campaigns like Creator stories, Selar 100, etc
• Collaborate with the social media team to distribute written blog content across multiple platforms.
• Write content that appeals to the East African and francophone African market
• Identify and pitch guest posting opportunities, securing backlinks that enhance Selar’s domain authority.
• UX Writing: Collaborate with the product team to create UX Copy for our different products
• Copywriting: Collaborate with the Product Marketing team to create marketing copy for our products
• Case Studies, Reports, and Ebooks: Collaborate with the marketing team to work on different case studies, reports, ebooks, and lead magnets that will not just deliver value to our community/users, but also increase brand # of users and brand loyalty.
• Analytics & Reporting: Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to measure the success of content marketing efforts
• Prepare regular reports on content performance and provide insights for improvement.
• Be involved in our video shoots, IG Lives and other digital outfits. 

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in content marketing, SEO writing, or a similar role.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong understanding of SEO best practices, keyword research, and content optimization.
• Familiarity with content management systems (e.g., WordPress) and analytics tools (Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs, etc.).
• Ability to develop creative and engaging content strategies that drive growth.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to measure content performance and iterate for better results.
• Proactive, innovative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Experience in tech or agency is an added advantage. 
• Ability to work on multiple projects at once effectively. 
• Have agency and execute with speed while maintaining excellence. 
• Very good leadership skills.
