Job Description:

This job role is to ensure that all overhead lines are fault-free as stipulated for system stability aimed at achieving business success.

Job Responsibility

• Inspect lines and poles and escalate abnormalities to the Technical Supervisor.
• Construction of overhead and underground networks (LV/HV).
• Maintains and services overhead and underground networks of 33kV, 11kV, and 0.415kV.
• Ensure the use of Personal Protective Equipment and work in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.
• Operate Isolators, Ring Main Unit, or any other line sectionalizing equipment/apparatus as directed.
• Carry out Fuse replacement and load balancing on the Distribution Substation as required. Perform any other duty as requested by the Technical Supervisor.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Technical Certificate in Electrical Installations & Maintenance or its equivalents (i.e. NABTEB, London City & Guilds, Diploma Certificates) or Ordinary level certificate.
• A relevant professional certification or qualification would be an added advantage.
• At least 2-4 years of experience within the Utilities industry or a closely related role.

• Perform switching operations by standard operating procedures.  
• Receives, records instructions, and reports all operational activities to the dispatch office.
• Issue of Protection Guarantee in line with safety procedures and IBEDC standard guidelines.  
• Records hourly load and other integrated meter readings.
• Inspects and monitors Substation equipment.
• Records and documents all HV faults and other reports to the Business Hub Dispatch Office.
• Maintains a log of all operations, both routine and emergency. Carry out other sundry assignments as directed by the Business Hub Dispatch.
