Creative Ad Strategist – The Rundown

Specifications:

Description:

As an Creative Ad Strategist at The Rundown, you’ll own the creative engine that powers our paid growth. You’ll research, ideate, write, produce, launch, and analyze ads across Meta (primary channel), with secondary ownership of Google, X/Twitter, and newsletter ad placements. This is a full-stack role: you’ll go from insight to live ad without waiting on handoffs, and you’ll use AI tools to compress the creative cycle. You’ll work directly with the Head of Growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research & analyze performance data: Mine historical ad data, Meta Ads Manager, and competitor ads to identify winning patterns, hooks, and angles. Build a clear reporting cadence on what’s working, what’s fatiguing, and what to test next.
  • Ideate, write & script ads: Generate ad angles, hook lists, and full scripts (talking-head, UGC, text-over-video, static) grounded in our ICP and voice. Write briefs for creators and editors when support is needed.
  • Produce ad creative end-to-end: Ship light-edit ads yourself — cut clips, layer captions, add music, export, and launch. Advanced filming and editing will be supported by specialists.
  • Build AI-powered creative workflows: Use AI tools across the creative stack — for voiceovers, ideation, scriptwriting, and generating static and motion creative. Build repeatable workflows that increase creative throughput without sacrificing quality, and stay on the frontier as new tools emerge.
  • Own campaign creative across channels: Primary focus on Meta (Facebook/Instagram). Secondary ownership of Google (YouTube, Search, Demand Gen), X/Twitter, and newsletter ad placements as priorities demand.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Proven copywriting and scriptwriting experience: You can share scripts you’ve written and explain why they worked.
  • Data fluency: Comfortable analyzing data to make creative decisions.
  • Hands-on production skills: You can go from idea to finished ad without support. Comfort in basic editing softwares.
  • AI-native: You already use AI tools daily to ideate, write, produce, and build workflows.
  • Creative taste: You study ads obsessively and can deconstruct why a hook works or doesn’t.

What we offer

  • A chance to build the sales organization behind the fastest-growing media brand in AI, reaching 2M+ professionals daily, with significantly underpriced inventory and massive headroom.
  • A global team that is passionate about the future of AI, media & education.
  • Competitive base + performance compensation, flexible hours & fully remote work.

Guide Editor:

Specifications:

Description:

The Guide Editor will work closely with our education team to produce video guides for Rundown AI University, our library of practical screen-share and talking-head tutorials about AI tools and workflows. You’ll own guide edits from raw recording through final delivery, including motion graphics, screen callouts, audio cleanup, pacing, and visual polish.

This is a remote contract role. It starts at one to two guides per week and can ramp toward three to five once you’re consistently hitting the quality and delivery bar.

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit for clarity: Take talking-head and screen-share recordings and turn them into concise, easy-to-follow tutorials.
  • Tighten the cut: Select the strongest takes and remove false starts, repetition, dead air, and irrelevant detours without losing important instructions.
  • Motion graphics: Build strong openings and create text animations, screen callouts, transitions, and supporting visuals in Adobe After Effects that make the lesson easier to follow.
  • Polish the edit: Uphold quality standards with appropriate colour, audio cleanup, and a final QC pass on spelling, visual continuity, privacy, and playback before export.
  • Work from the brief: Follow the guide brief and brand references, and flag unclear instructions, missing assets, private information, or source issues instead of guessing.
  • Deliver on schedule: Ship review cuts on time, apply consolidated feedback accurately, and prepare the approved final master in the requested delivery format.
  • Hand off clean files: Return organised, relinkable Premiere Pro and After Effects project files with clearly named sequences, assets, and versions, plus any cutdowns, replacement exports, or revision notes included in the agreed scope.
  • Communicate proactively: Keep progress, questions, capacity, and delivery timing visible in Slack, and flag a possible delay before the deadline with a recovery plan.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A strong portfolio of educational, product-demo, creator, SaaS, or YouTube tutorial work.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, with strong working proficiency in After Effects for motion graphics and compositing.
  • Comfortable with Adobe Dynamic Link, MOGRTs, and Media Encoder, plus Frame.io for version delivery and time-coded feedback, Slack for asynchronous collaboration, and Descript when a project uses transcript-based review.
  • Experience combining presenter footage, screen recordings, product UI, and motion graphics.
  • Strong judgment about pacing, instructional clarity, and visual hierarchy, with editorial instincts that preserve factual meaning and instructional steps.
  • Strong quality control for audio, color, spelling, visual continuity, privacy, and final playback.
  • A workstation and internet connection that can handle 4K source media and dependable renders.
  • A strong communicator and collaborator who pays close attention to detail and is comfortable owning work.
  • An interest in AI, tech, and digital media.

Head of Content

Specifications:

Description:

As Head of Content at The Rundown, you’ll own the editorial bar across everything we publish — three daily newsletters (AI, Tech, Robotics), social channels, guides, newsletter takeovers, and new show formats. You’ll be the manager that our team looks to, the person who ensures every piece that goes out sounds like The Rundown.

You’ll also build the team that makes this possible – recruiting, hiring, and developing writers, editors, and producers as we expand from three newsletters into a multi-show, multi-format content operation. By end of year 1, we expect you’ll be leading a team of 8-12+ across editorial, video, and short-form

You’ll report directly to the CEO, run weekly calls, and help us scale our media ecosystem from three newsletters into a full portfolio of shows and formats.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own editorial quality across all properties: Review and edit the AI, Tech, and Robotics newsletters daily. Give direct, specific feedback to writers — not just line edits, but coaching on structure, angle, and voice.
  • Enforce brand voice consistency: Ensure social posts, guides, newsletters, takeovers, and show content all sound and look like one publication. Maintain and evolve our voice guidelines as we add formats.
  • Lead newsletter takeover editorial: Partner with the team to ensure every sponsored takeover meets our editorial standards. Push back on weak sponsor submissions and guide them toward content our audience will actually read.
  • Scale the media ecosystem: Help us go from three newsletters to a full portfolio — new shows, new formats, repeatable editorial systems, and flywheels that compound across the content ecosystem.
  • Build and lead the content team: Own the org design for editorial. Decide what roles we need next, when we need them, and what the reporting lines look like as we expand from three newsletters into shows, podcasts, and new formats.
  • Recruit and hire top editorial talent: Partner with ops to run the editorial hiring pipeline end-to-end — JDs, sourcing, screening, interviews, take-home tests, and close.
  • Develop and retain the team: Run 1:1s, give hard feedback, set performance expectations, and own onboarding.
  • Run editorial weekly calls: Lead weekly editorial syncs, track KPIs, surface bottlenecks, and bring new ideas to the CEO on where we should go next.
  • Coach and develop: Help our broader writing team level up. Give hard feedback with care. Own onboarding and recruiting for new editorial hires.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A writer’s editor: You’ve been a senior editor or managing editor at a publication, newsletter, or media brand. You can diagnose what’s wrong with a draft in 30 seconds and articulate the fix clearly.
  • AI-native: You use AI tools daily to research, draft, fact-check, and ship faster. You can tell immediately when a piece was AI-generated and poorly edited – and you know how to fix it.
  • Obsessed with AI as a topic: You read our newsletter. You can tell the difference between genuinely important AI news and hype, and you have strong opinions about coverage.
  • Voice-calibrated: You can write in someone else’s voice, teach others to do the same, and hold the line on consistency across a team.
  • A builder, not just an editor: You’re excited about designing new content formats, not just polishing existing ones.
  • High trust, high ownership: You’ll be the senior editorial person at a company that doesn’t have one today. You thrive with autonomy and you’re good at managing up.
