What your day will look like

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Experience at a large public accounting firm, or public multinational corporate accounting department preferred

The role entails

  • Maintain accuracy of our A/R ledgers and reconciliation of accounts
  • Manage our customer data (names, addresses, etc.), validate and gain approval for new accounts, and maintain our audit record of customer data changes and approvals
  • Process our customer invoices in a timely and accurate manner, including entry of invoices into accounting systems and maintain our files in a tidy and organised manner
  • Efficiently resolve any problems prior to raising and issue of invoice
  • Implement and comply with the Canonical credit control policy
  • Maximise cash collection through the effective collection of debts and maintain records to track debt collection through to conclusion
  • Ensure payments are received in line with contractual terms
  • Help with our month end processes: bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Resolve questions/issues, escalating when appropriate in a timely manner
  • Maintain compliance with processes and procedures, recommend corrective action when identified and maintain suitable records to demonstrate compliance

Channel Partner Sales Executive

Description:

Canonical is growing its channel sales team to capitalize on rapidly growing demand from channel partners, leveraging their expertise and connections to bring open source technology to organizations across a multitude of industries.  

The role requires a mix of both farming and hunting capabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving assigned annual growth quotas. 

They should be able to identify, prospect, and engage reseller and distributor partners to build and maintain relationships and grow Canonical’s business within the assigned territory.

The successful candidate must be comfortable owning and leading initiatives in an unstructured, startup-like environment.  This individual must be able to sell open source, cloud, virtualization, and technical software solutions.

Although the role is focused primarily on reseller and distributor channel partners, the successful candidate must be capable of and comfortable with initial customer discovery calls and presentations as appropriate.  

The Role Entails

  • Develop and execute channel strategy for distributors and resellers within the assigned territory
  • Increase awareness of Canonical as a lead player in Open Source and Cloud (Private, Hybrid, Multi, and Public models) 
  • Identify and recruit new potential partners in assigned territory
  • Leverage personal network and prospecting skills to engage new partners and build on Canonical’s already-successful relationships
  • Guide partners through onboarding and enablement 
  • Develop mutually beneficial go-to-market plans and commitments with partners
  • Arrange and execute sales and pre sales trainings to these resellers
  • Drive and manage channel pipeline through recurring partner interactions
  • Support partner’s satisfaction and act as trusted advisor and point of contact
  • Maintain a regularity/frequency of contact with priority resellers and distributors.  

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s level degree, preferably in a technology field
  • Experience in software or technology sales from the specified market

These partners shape the platforms, solutions, marketplaces, hardware and delivery motions through which enterprises adopt open source at scale. We are looking for exceptional partner leaders who can build durable, mutually valuable relationships, develop joint solutions, drive global go-to-market programmes, and convert partner potential into measurable customer impact, revenue growth and market expansion for Canonical.

Opportunities are available for both people leaders and senior individual contributors. In these roles, you will lead, build or scale one or more strategic partner motions for Canonical, either by managing a team or by directly driving high-impact partner initiatives. You will work closely with partners throughout their sales, product, delivery and executive planning cycles to make Canonical their trusted partner for enterprise open source solutions. Depending on your experience and Canonical’s business priorities, your focus may include Channels, GSI, ISV, IHV/OEM, Silicon, Cloud or cross-ecosystem partnerships.

Our Alliances and Channels teams build trusted relationships with partners at executive level, increase Canonical market share and attach rate, evangelise the partnership, and lead business interactions from engineers to CxO level. This role will own strategy, sell-to, sell-through and sell-with motions across assigned partners or sectors, as well as promotion of partner-related activities, from campaigns, enablement and executive engagement, to strategic opportunities and partner events.

Location: These are globally remote positions.

The role entails

  • Own and drive partner strategy, forecast, bookings and revenues for Canonical across one or more indirect routes to market
  • Lead and evolve a team or strategic partner portfolio towards accelerated revenue growth and market impact
  • Build strategic relationships with global and regional partners at executive levels
  • Design and execute joint go-to-market plans with partners, sales, product management, product marketing and engineering teams
  • Develop partner capability through sales engagement, technical enablement, joint marketing and disciplined business planning
  • Guide our offering from product management, to product marketing, and scale it through the support of our global sales organisation
  • Establish operating cadence, pipeline governance and data-driven accountability across complex partner relationships

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in alliance, channel, partner, ecosystem or indirect sales management roles
  • Experience in one or more of GSIs, VARs, distributors, ISVs, IHVs/OEMs, silicon, public cloud, marketplaces or strategic technology alliances
  • Deep commercial experience encompassing revenue, margins, pipeline, forecasting and partner economics
  • Proven leadership and presentation skills, with the ability to engage confidently from engineer to CxO level
  • Ability to build trusted executive relationships while aligning product, sales, marketing, engineering and operations teams
  • Insight into open source, Ubuntu, enterprise infrastructure, cloud, AI, security and Canonical’s competition and opportunities

Collaboration with customers, product engineering, and operations is critical to success.

  • Manage a growing engineering team to optimise the quality and velocity of both development and operations
  • Identify and measure team health indicators

What your day will look like

  • Develop and execute a content marketing strategy that aligns with our business goals, SEO and brand. 
  • Manage our content calendar end to end, ensuring content is efficiently produced with minimum friction and process clarity.
  • Ensure content quality, consistency and brand alignment in everything we produce. 
  • Collaborate with our web and growth engineering teams to optimize content for search and AI engines, building on proven SEO or GEO expertise. 
  • Supervise quarterly content planning sessions and work closely with content specialists, product management and marketing to optimize content plans.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs for our content program and use analytics tools to identify improvement opportunities. 
  • Align messaging to ensure integrated campaign support across channels, working closely with our marketing, product and brand teams.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of work experience in content or related roles, preferably at  technology companies, with 2+ years of experience as a manager or team lead. 
  • Proven experience creating authoritative and engaging content. Portfolio of written work required.
  • Applied knowledge of GEO and SEO, experience with relevant tools and SEO-driven content calendars. 
  • Excellent project management and interpersonal skills with the ability to create highly efficient processes for content production and reuse. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or a relevant discipline. 
  • Someone who is passionate about technology and open source. 
  • A problem solver: you don’t shy away from taking on challenges and see projects through to completion. 
  • Attention to detail and appreciation for standards: you value quality and accuracy but can adapt quickly when the need arises.
