Maintenance Team Lead

Description:
Maintenance Team Lead ensure all machines and equipment are always available for production use through practice of effective maintenance programs that reduce emergency breakdowns to the barest level, and at a minimum cost.
Responsibilities
- Identify jobs and allocate same to the technician for execution
- Supervises junior associates to ensure that they carry out jobs according to instructions
- To ensure that the necessary safety precautions are observed in executing tasks
- Logs and documents all maintenance activities in the required logbooks
- Ensures optimal spare parts and maintenance materials inventory management
- Develops and coaches, and provides feedback to team members for better performance
- Establishes and maintains productive relationships with team, internal customers and stakeholders
- Learns best practices from outside and shares own best practices within SBC
- Promotes process automation and use of technology within the business
- Establishes, monitors and reinforces control on maintenance strategy execution in plant
- Schedules overhaul of production lines and facilities
- Improves efficiencies by increasing preventive maintenance across the plant and to minimise breakdowns and reduce mean time between failures.
- Ensures continuous and effective assets management
- Evaluates effectiveness of corrective actions using all available data
- Maintains effective systems to ensure SBC/PI products and package quality.
- Ensures implementation of basic cycle maintenance, lubrication, cleaning and inspection (CIL) and instill these principles to be part of the culture of operators and technicians.
- Ensures proper upkeep and prevent loss of the tools and equipment in the engineering department.
- Take lead in change management for the engineering/maintenance department related to people structure or role changes, technology enhancement, regulatory and company initiatives on productivity.
- Ensures that their key customer – production and management are provided with prompt and reliable service.
- Plans and control weekly maintenance spending within the approved budget level. Ensures no overspending without proper approvals.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A minimum of Bachelor of Engineering Degree (B.Eng.) or HND in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 3– 5 years relevant hands-on FMCG operation and maintenance experience
- Experience in people management
- Knowledge of bottling operation
- Coaching direct reports and mentoring others
- Ability to build and leverage relationships to improve results
- Open-minded and willing to experiment and try new things
- Ability to disseminate and enforce safety, health & environment policy.
- Ability to influence situations without direct control of resources
- Good understanding of HQSE modalities and codes
- Good understanding of GMP and GHK (5S) standards

Description:
Responsible for driving complex and technical work in the repair, maintenance, troubleshooting and installation of generators, automatic transfer switches, generator. Ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of generator systems, minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency.
Responsibilities
- maintains activity logs, monitors work orders and service requests and completes work orders and reports
- Assist in troubleshoots, diagnoses and repairs of electrical and mechanical failures with generators, transfer switches and replaces faulty components and air compressors; inspects valves, injection pumps, injectors and related components.
- Analyze various power sources including GAS, Diesel solar & Grid, analyze deviations to ensure that right power quality is delivered to the plant.
- Reporting and tracking energy consumption, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually.
- Performing routine checks on energy transformers, energy meters, RMU, AMF, MLV and other LV distribution components and accessories.
- Implement strategies and policies to reduce energy consumption and Improve Fuel Efficiency
- Maintains inventory of spare parts and initiates procurement of replacement supplies and equipment as necessary; makes cost and material estimates; collects data for preventive maintenance system;
- Reporting and tracking on facility Fuel consumption, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting of Fuel & Energy consumption and trends and facility energy forecast.
- Interfacing with power distribution companies in ensuring delivery of quality and reliable power to the facility. Ability to perform routine checks on energy transformers, energy meters, RMU, AMF, MLV and other LV distribution components and accessories.
- Develop maintenance teams\’ capabilities through On Job Training and Hand holding, ensures IDP\’s are in place and executed for self and subordinates.
- Ensures training programs are attended by all nominated team members and guide on implementation of learnings
- Develops unit capabilities to achieve maximum utilization of technology and equipment and effectively applies approved selection
- Develops and coaches, and provides feedback to team members for better performance and develops successors
- Establishes and maintains productive relationships with team members and stake holders
- Drives innovation in Enhancing Power House Operations by ensuring continuous process improvement by adhering to OEM Standards
- Listens to and encourages employee recommendations and implements the ones delivering values quickly
- Learns and implements best practices from outside and shares own best practices within SBC
- Promotes process automation and use of technology within the business
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum of Bachelor of Engineering Degree (B.Eng.) or HND in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 6–8 years of relevant hands-on experience with generators (Diesel & Gas), Boilers, VAM, and other electrical systems.
- At least 3 years of experience in a beverage bottling company in a Senior Engineer capacity.
- Experienced in budgeting and people management.
- Knowledge of bottling operations: Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Environment, Engineering, Health, and Safety.
- Understanding of the financial impact of decisions.
- Experience coaching direct reports and mentoring others.
- Ability to translate functional strategy into unit/section plans.
- Ability to lead and manage change, setting standards for achieving performance targets.
- Ability to build and leverage relationships to improve results.
- Possession of CMRP Certification or a similar engineering certification is an added advantage.
- Experience in plant manufacturing operations, project planning, and implementation.
- Previous experience with new generator installations or power plant expansion is an advantage.
- Understanding of business case/cost-benefit analysis preparation and basic financial reports.
- Ability to influence situations without direct control of resources.
- Exposure to budgeting procedures and cost management.
