British oil giant BP plc has opened applications for its 2026 Supply, Trading and Shipping (ST&S) Internship Programme, offering Nigerian graduates an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the global energy sector.

The one-year internship programme, based in Nigeria, is designed to provide participants with practical exposure to trading, shipping operations, and market analysis within BP’s international business operations.
According to details released by the company, the internship will be part of its Marketing and Origination team, which focuses on developing long-term growth opportunities and delivering customer-focused solutions across key regions, including Lagos, Luanda, Accra, and London.
Successful applicants will work alongside experienced professionals, supporting core business activities while building skills in trade finance, shipping logistics, and commercial analysis. The role also requires strong time management, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
To be eligible, applicants must be Nigerian citizens with a strong academic background, including a minimum CGPA of 3.2 and a bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, business, or related fields. The programme is open to recent graduates who completed their studies between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2025.

BP noted that the role is on-site, with no remote work or relocation support provided, and no travel requirements attached to the position.
The company also highlighted key skills expected from applicants, including communication, problem-solving, digital fluency, creativity, and stakeholder management, among others.
