Federal University of Kashere was established in February, 2011 (Establishment Act 2015) with the mandate to increase access to and quality of University education in Nigeria. The University, which currently has Four (4) Faculties and a Postgraduate School with 42 Undergraduate and 46 Postgraduate Programmes respectively, is poised for accelerated expansion and excellence in academic activities.

Director of Physical Planning Department

Description:

What you’ll be doing

• Record site statistics and ensure all staff and contractors on the site are captured, in alignment with LafargeHolcim incident and reporting standard. Lead accident and Incident investigation when needed using RCA.
• Assist in the development of the project / site safety improvement program.  This should include the monthly facilitation of a health and safety committee.
• Make periodic health assessments of offices, canteens, toilets and facilities and assess compliance with Welfare Facilities Standard, Ergonomics Advisory. 

Qualifications and Requirements:

Candidates should possess the following:

• A good honors Degree (not lower than Second Class Division and Possession of Master Degree in relevant field is an advantage) in Architecture, Quantity Survey, Building, Civil Engineering, Town Panning or Construction Management from a recognized University with not less than fifteen (15) years cognate experience, eight (8) of which must be in a University system or similar tertiary Institutions;
• Candidates must have attained the position of Deputy Director or its equivalent in a University system or Tertiary Institution;
• Candidate must be registered with the relevant professional bodies.
• Candidate must be computer literate with working knowledge of relevant software.

Conditions of Service

• The Conditions of Service attached to the position of Director, Physical Planning Department are as obtainable in Federal Universities in Nigeria.
• The salary and allowances are applicable to Officers on CONUNASS 15.

Vice Chancellor

Description:

• The Vice Chancellor is the Chief Executive and Academic Officer of the University and Chairman of Senate, Congregation, Member of College/Schools/Faculties/ Institutes and any other Authorities of the University.
• He/she shall be the embodiment and symbol of the Vision and Mission of the University.

Qualifications and Requirements:

The Candidate shall be:

• Competent at all times to advise the Governing Council on any matter affecting the policy, finance and administration of the University;
• Responsible to the Senate for the administration of academic programmes and student discipline in consonance with the extant rules and regulations of the University; and
• Generally responsible to the Council for maintaining good governance through proper enforcement of the University Statutes, Ordinances and Regulations.

Qualities and Qualifications
The Candidate for the post of Vice Chancellor shall be:

• A distinguished scholar with proven outstanding academic leadership and administrative records.
• A Professor of not less than Seven (7) years status, who must have served with an unbroken record as Head of Department and Director, Dean, Provost or Deputy Vice Chancellor in a recognized University.
• Must possess high moral standards, integrity, accountability and transparency.
• Must be a proficient scholar with ICT skills relevant to contemporary times, attracting research grants, relating effectively and productively with government, alumni, staff and students’ unions, public organizations, and non-governmental organizations. He/she must exhibit entrepreneurial drive, as well as foster collaborations and linkages.
• Possess excellent physical and mental health (Certificate of medical fitness obtained from an approved Government Hospital must be attached).
• Provide a document of not more than five hundred (500) words of his/her vision and mission for the University.

Tenure of Office and Terms of Appointment

• The Vice Chancellor shall hold office for a single term of five (5) years and shall not be older than 65 years of age on the 10th of February, 2026, when the position is scheduled to be occupied.
• The remuneration and other conditions of service are as applicable to the post of Vice Chancellor in Nigerian Federal Universities and as may be determined from time to time by the Federal Government and the Governing Council.
