Description:

The Health Emergency Initiative (HEI) Graduate Trainee Program is a structured, impact-driven initiative designed to groom the next generation of non-profit leaders in the Nigerian healthcare sector. Based in Lagos, the program immerses trainees in the fast-paced world of emergency medical interventions, where they support the organization’s mission to prevent avoidable deaths due to poverty. Participants rotate through core departments such as Program Operations, Resource Mobilization (Fundraising), Communications, and Hospital Relations, gaining hands-on experience in managing emergency cases, coordinating with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and executing community-based First Aid and CPR training projects.

Qualifications and Requirements:

To be eligible for the HEI Graduate Trainee position, applicants must typically meet the following criteria:

• A Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Public Health, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Mass Communication, or a related field (minimum of Second Class Upper or Upper Credit is usually preferred).
•  Candidates should be recent graduates who have completed their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program or are currently serving in Lagos.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word) and a strong grasp of social media tools for advocacy and storytelling.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to work under pressure in emergency-response scenarios.
• A demonstrated commitment to volunteerism and humanitarian work, showing a genuine alignment with the “None Should Die” mantra of the organization.
