Junior Data Engineer – PostgreSQL / PostGIS:

Description:

• We are looking for a Junior Data Engineer with foundational knowledge of PostgreSQL, PL/pgSQL and PostGIS to support data management, data processing and the development of data pipelines for a health information platform.
• The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of relational databases and some practical experience working with PostgreSQL. Experience with PostGIS, PL/pgSQL and Power BI is highly desirable, but candidates with foundational knowledge and demonstrated interest in these areas are encouraged to apply.
• The successful candidate will work with experienced data and software engineers to build, maintain and improve data pipelines and support the preparation of reliable datasets for reporting and visualisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development and maintenance of data pipelines.
• Work with PostgreSQL databases to store, query and manage data.
• Write and maintain SQL queries for data extraction and transformation.
• Develop basic PL/pgSQL functions, procedures and database logic under guidance.
• Support the management and processing of geospatial data using PostGIS.
• Assist with data transformation, validation and quality checks.
• Prepare and transform datasets for reporting and visualisation.
• Support the development of data pipelines that feed Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Assist with troubleshooting data pipeline and database issues.
• Document data processes, queries and pipeline configurations.
• Work with software and data engineers to integrate data from different sources.
• Support data quality, consistency and integrity across systems.
• Participate in testing and optimisation of database queries and data processes.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Basic to intermediate knowledge of SQL.
• Practical knowledge of PostgreSQL.
• Experience with PostGIs and spatial/geographic data
• Basic understanding of relational database concepts and data modelling.
• Some exposure to PL/pgSQL.
• Basic understanding of data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
• Familiarity with data cleaning and validation.

Description:

• We are looking for a Junior Azure Cloud / Infrastructure Engineer with foundational knowledge of Microsoft Azure, cloud infrastructure and DevOps to support the deployment, maintenance and monitoring of a health information platform hosted on Azure.
• The successful candidate does not need extensive production Azure experience but should understand the fundamentals of Azure and cloud infrastructure and have some hands-on exposure through work experience, projects, labs or certifications.
• You will work alongside experienced DevOps engineers to configure development and staging environments, support CI/CD pipelines and assist with the management and monitoring of Azure infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the configuration and maintenance of Azure cloud environments.
• Assist with setting up and managing development, staging and production infrastructure.
• Support CI/CD pipeline configuration and deployment processes.
• Assist with Azure identity and access management.
• Support the management of Azure resources, virtual networks and related infrastructure.
